Guernsey, as part of its commitment to the highest standards of international cooperation, has introduced a central register of beneficial ownership for legal persons.
Guernsey companies, foundations and limited partnerships now have to provide beneficial ownership information at the time of establishment. Legal persons established prior to the register's introduction will have to comply in due course.
The register is not accessible to the public. Requests for information can only be made for a permitted purpose, effectively limiting the disclosure of information to local and foreign tax, regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
